Susan Crawford was born in Scotland in 1941 and was brought up on a farm in East Lothian where her parents trained racehorses and thus she developed her love of horses from an early age.
As a portrait painter, Susan Crawford has painted five members of the British royal family as well as the Sultans of Brunei and Oman. However, it is her talent in horse portraiture for which she is best known and is, in this field, almost certainly the most sought after artist of her generation. She has exhibited her work in a number of distinguished galleries throughout the world and Scarlett Willow is proud to ‘exhibit’ her beautiful paintings on our tray and placemats.
